As a parent/carer, or as someone who works with children on a regular basis, it can be hard not to fall into the same habits of conversation each day. Asking your child about his/her day at school is one moment in which we can easily default to this familiar question:

Adult: “How was your day?”

Child: “Good.”

End of conversation.
